When we created the Bristol Burlesque Festival 2014, we asked each applicant one important question: “What is Burlesque to you?” The answers made us laugh and cry and marvel at the beautiful variety our chosen art form presents. I do not do burlesque myself, I am probably too lazy. But I do love how women enjoy themselves with it. I like to see women be free and proud of themselves. There is nothing more erotic and powerful than a woman being proud of herself.
